Description

This muscle-building stir-fry packs 32g of protein into a quick, savory meal perfect for busy schedules. By using tender flank steak and a medley of fresh, crisp vegetables, you get a nutrient-dense dinner that supports metabolic health and keeps you full. The quick searing process ensures the beef stays tender, while the aromatic sauce ties everything together for a restaurant-quality experience in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

1 pound flank steak
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups broccoli florets
3/4 cup red bell pepper, sliced
1/2 cup carrots, sliced
1/2 small onion, sliced
1 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 cup chicken broth
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp neutral cooking oil

Instructions

Slice the flank steak against the grain into quarter-inch thick strips.
In a bowl, combine the beef with a splash of water, a portion of the soy sauce, cornstarch, baking soda, and a drizzle of oil; marinate for 20-25 minutes.
Whisk together garlic, oyster sauce, remaining soy sauce, chicken broth, sugar, remaining cornstarch, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat.
Sear the beef in a single layer until browned, then remove from the wok.
Add vegetables to the hot wok and stir-fry until crisp-tender.
Return the beef to the wok and pour in the prepared sauce.
Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the sauce coats the ingredients and thickens.

Notes

Ensure the beef is sliced against the grain to maintain tenderness.
Use high heat to achieve a good sear without overcooking the vegetables.
If the sauce is too thick, add a tablespoon of chicken broth or water to adjust consistency.
